Kinabalu Park covers a staggering area of 754 sq. km possesses the highest mountain in Malaysia that means it is bigger than Singapore Island. This botanical paradise is blessed with an astonishing variety of flora and fauna that ranges over 4 climate zones, from the rich lowland dipterocarp forests through the montane oak, rhododendron and coniferous forests, to the alpine meadow plants. With it a diverse range of temperature and climate with all its exotic plants, birds and insects, with new species found every year. Highways and sealed roads have made the park easily accessible. Now it’s can easy 2-hour scenic drive from Kota Kinabalu. It is a popular getaway from hustle and bustle of the city where visitors can enjoy the cool invigorating air. Gateway to the summit of Borneo is the Kinabalu Park Headquarters, situated on the southern boundary, at an elevation of 1,563m. Most of the park modern facilities are located here, from visitor’s accommodation, restaurants, and exhibit centres, to the park’s offices where overnight visitors and climbers must register. Thousands visit the park every year to walk along the nature trails at park headquarter or climb Mount Kinabalu, which is the magnificent granite massif stands at 4,095.2 m is the highest mountain in Asean.
